The Gastronomic Autumn has been held for almost two decades now. It’s been years, but surely there are those who still don’t know what it’s all about, which means that they are missing the opportunity to spend a great weekend in a rural tourism house, enjoying high quality menus at unusual prices.
Taking advantage of the fact that the 18th Gastronomic Autumn has just been presented, we are going to review this promotion sponsored by Turismo de Galicia, in which rural tourism lodgings in the four provinces are involved: 24 in A Coruña, 23 in Lugo, 15 in Ourense and 15 in Pontevedra. In total, 77 destinations to choose from in a natural environment, in the coastal or inland area that most appeals to us.
First of all, let’s talk about dates. You have to be attentive to plan, because time flies by. The offers are valid on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between September 13 and December 15, except for the weekends of November 1-3 and December 6-8.
Each establishment participating in the promotion offers its Autumn Gastronomic Menu, with two options to choose from, which always consists of starter, first course, main course, dessert and Galician D.O. wine. They also offer several booking options, depending on whether we are staying overnight, if we go with the family, etc. What we can be sure of is that all are advantages, both culinary and economic.
And what are these modalities? Well, here we explain them in detail, from the simplest to the most complete:
Autumn Gastronomic Menu. 37,50 € per person.
Autumn Gastronomic Package. Autumn Gastronomic Menu + 1 night accommodation (Friday or Saturday) + breakfast. 105 € 1 person in single room; 165 € 2 people in double room.
Autumn Gastronomic Weekend. 2 Autumn Gastronomic Menus + 2 nights accommodation (Friday and Saturday) + breakfasts. 165 € 1 person in single room; 260 € 2 people in double room.
Autumn Gastronomic Family Weekend (with a child under 14 years old). 2 Autumn Gastronomic Menus + 2 children’s menus + 2 nights accommodation (Friday and Saturday, 2 double rooms or one double room with 2 extra beds) + breakfasts. 310 €.
Autumn Gastronomic Family Weekend (with 2 children under 14 years old). 2 Autumn Gastronomic Menus + 2 children’s menus + 2 nights accommodation (Friday and Saturday, in double room with extra bed) + breakfasts. 360 €.
Attention, that’s not the end of it. Among the establishments participating in this Gastronomic Autumn, 31 of them (10 in A Coruña, 7 in Lugo, 6 in Ourense and 8 in Pontevedra) offer an extra modality: the Autumn Plus. In this modality, the stay in the rural house is completed with activities such as a visit to a museum, canoeing, horseback riding, visits to wineries, wine tasting, hiking… Of course, there is something for everyone, even escape room and yoga. Here there is no standard price, as it depends on the type of activity, so they are between 2 and 60 euros, even some are free.
By the way, until October 5 we can submit our candidacy to be ambassador or ambassador of Galicia, designed for those who brag about the land in social networks. Turismo de Galicia will choose 10 proposals among those sent to produto.turismo@xunta.gal. The authors of these will be invited to a Gastronomic Autumn Weekend for two people, so that they can show in the networks how much fun they are having.
