What to do in Galicia from August 30 to September 5

This week begins September and the return to normality after the holidays is already sensed, but surely many can still enjoy a few days of vacation. For everyone this week’s agenda is full of gastronomic parties, cinema, puppets and concerts that you will not want to miss.


Callos Festival. Salceda de Caselas

Gastronomic festival that is celebrated in the town of Salceda de Caselas from August 30 to September 5, in recognition of the tradition that this dish has in the municipality of Pontevedra. In addition to the gastronomic tasting, those present will be able to enjoy various recreational and cultural events.

Due to the circumstances of Covid19, all events will have limited capacity, controlled access and capacity, safety distances … complying with all possible security measures.

Neda’s bread festival

Festival of Tourist Interest that this year is celebrated in a reduced version, with a special program that includes concerts, tours of the mills in the area and activities for the smallest of the house, with bread baking included.

It is celebrated from September 2 to 5.


Cans Festival. O Porriño

The Cans Festival this year has a new date and is between Wednesday 1 and Saturday 4 September. This 18th edition will feature fifteen short films and names such as the filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho, the historian Ian Gibson, the singer Sés or the actors Celso Bugallo and Tamar Novas will pass through the festival.


International Puppet Festival. Redondela

For the little ones, the Redondela house celebrates, from September 1 to 5, its famous Puppet Festival.

An event that features theater companies from different countries, artists specialized in the manipulation of objects, hand and glove puppets or wands, string puppets, traditional wooden dolls and Chinese shadows.


Concertos na Fin do Mundo

This week the Concertos na Fin do Mundo will take place, on Friday, September 3, at the Corrubedo lighthouse, in Ribeira, with performances by Russinha, the Galician singer Laura Lamontagne & PicoAmperio.e or bagpiper Anxo Lorenzo, already at night.
