Spring open doors on the Galician Wine Routes

Galicia is getting ready to celebrate a new edition of the Open Days on the Wine Routes, an initiative that invites you to discover the region’s oenological wealth through unique experiences. During five weekends between May and June, the five Galician designations of origin – Rías Baixas, O Ribeiro, Ribeira Sacra, Valdeorras and Monterrei – will open their doors to offer free guided visits to wineries, guided tastings and complementary activities that combine wine, culture and landscape.

Each route offers a special programme that includes, in addition to visits to the wineries, activities such as boat trips, monumental routes, visits to wine museums and discounts on accommodation. Attendees will be able to enjoy menus specially designed for the occasion in local restaurants, paired with wines from the corresponding appellation.

One of the highlights of the event is the ‘Wine Bus’, a transport service that facilitates access to the participating wineries, allowing visitors to enjoy the tastings without any worries. This initiative aims to promote sustainable and responsible tourism, bringing participants closer to the Galician wine culture in a comfortable and safe way.

The Open Days not only offer an opportunity to taste Galician wines, but also to explore the natural and cultural heritage of each region. From the terraced vineyards of Ribeira Sacra to the coastal landscapes of Rías Baixas, each route offers a unique experience combining oenology, gastronomy and tourism.

This initiative, consolidated as one of the most attractive wine tourism proposals in Galicia, seeks to deseasonalise tourism and promote knowledge of local products. It is an invitation to experience Galicia through its wines, its landscapes and its people, in an experience that delights all the senses.

For more information on the dates and activities of each route, you can consult the complete programme on the official website of Turismo de Galicia.
