As San Lucas
From 17 to 21 October – Mondoñedo, Lugo
As San Lucas, in the municipality of Mondoñedo (Lugo), is a traditional livestock fair declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in Galicia. This festival dates back to 1156, when Alfonso VII granted the right to hold a fair for eight days.
Today, however, the duration of the festivities is five days and has a particular festive program that you can consult on the official website of the municipality: http://www.mondonedo.net/content/view/44/57/lang,es/ . In addition to the opening speech, the ‘cabalar’ fair, livestock competitions, dog and machinery exhibitions, another of the protagonists of the festivities is the agri-food products market, which this year has a special dedication to organic farming.
Of course, there are also open-air dances and concerts. This year the audience will be able to dance to the rhythm of the orchestras Paris de Noia and Panorama and enjoy the melodies of Carlos Núñez.
Festival de Artes Escénicas de Persoas con Discapacidade Intelectual 2018
Thursday 18 October – Pontevedra
The Festival de Artes Escénicas de Persoas con Discapacidade Intelectual (Festival of Performing Arts of People with Intellectual Disabilities), goes up to the stages again to show the capabilities of people who suffer some kind of intellectual disability. On this occasion, they will be at the Sede AFundación in the capital of Pontevedra at 20:00, performing their work ¡Peter! ¡Volamos!
It is a musical representation based on the story of Peter Pan that will show us once again the importance of social insertion focusing on talent and favouring a positive vision of this collective. You can’t miss it! Admission is free and the cast of actors is unbeatable.
Outono Códax Festival 2018
Friday 19 October – Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña
The Outono Códax Festival is held once again in the Galician capital. Santiago de Compostela will host the Galician black music festival from 19 October. It consists of a cycle of five concerts that combine styles such as soul, rythm&blues, swing, funk and classic rock&roll.
